Meeting change head on after the loss of the Verso Paper Mill, Bucksport has positioned itself as a venue for Art, Music, Dance, Theatre and more through the creation of several new summer activities. In addition to named sponsors of events, people and businesses from Bucksport and surrounding towns are contributing time, money and effort to the cause, from community clean up and beautification volunteers to sponsors for weekly movies at The Alamo theatre, all playing a critical part in the story.

Perfectly located equidistance from Belfast, Bangor and Ellsworth/MDI, and a scenic drive from points South, West and North, Bucksport is a beautiful waterfront town on the banks of the Penobscot River as it meets the Atlantic, and enjoys many positive attributes for a safe and rewarding community in which to live, work and play.

The Wednesday on Main program is an exciting and new event series in Bucksport, starting June 3 with the Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers at The Alamo Theatre, 5-7 pm.   Live events right on Bucksport’s Main Street every Wednesday through August will bring entertainment- from Gypsy Jazz to Blues and Bluegrass to thought provoking film -- this ambitious and diverse event series offers something for every age group. Generous support to date has been received from Camden National Bank, Bangor Savings Bank, and The Town of Bucksport. The full schedule can be found at www.bucksportwom.com.

Wahl’s Dairy Port and Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream will be offering ice cream specials (something to do with FREE) at all Wednesday On Main events!
