CELEBRATION BARN - CASCO BAY MOVERS - ISLEBORO - OXFORD HILLS

Alberto Maranhao Theater Dance Company, under the artistic direction of Wanie Rose, from Maine’s sister state, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, via Partners of the Americas, will be in Maine from July 20 to August 10. The contemporary dance company (CDTAM) will be staying in the Art Moves Dance Studio Building in Norway, where they will also hold morning classes and rehearsals which are open to the public. Their hosts are non-profits Cottage Street Creative Exchange, Inc. and the Maine chapter of Partners of the Americas.

CDTAM will be performing at the Norway Farmer’s Market July 23rd, Celebration Barn July 25th, Moore Park July 26th, Casco Bay Movers July 31st for BRASIL NIGHT, Isleboro August 3rd, Oxford Hills High School August 5th with the MAINE DANCE FESTIVAL, and August 7 at First Friday. They will hold a master class in GINGA - Capoeira Fusion - at Bates Dance Festival Sunday, July 26 at 4pm, and classes in Intermediate Contemporary from 3:00 - 4:30 and Brazilian Social Dance (no experience necessary) from 4:30 to 5:30 Saturday, August 1st at Casco Bay Movers Dance Studio in Portland. Debi irons, artistic director of Cottage Street Creative Exchange, met CDTAM while on an exchange to Natal, RN, Brazil in 2014 via Partners of the Americas. She invited them to Maine, and, due to limited funds, said that if they could get to Boston, they would be taken care of. Please join CSCE and the Partners in welcoming them to Maine.
