Camden, ME - The Art of Giving pairs an artist with a Maine charity (of the artist’s choice) to raise money through art for causes near and dear to us all. Four artists and their respective works of art will be selected and featured in the Art of Giving section of Down East magazine this summer, reaching hundreds of thousands of readers with a strong affinity for Maine art & culture. At the end of the summer, we will join together in celebration and raise money for the artist-selected charities by raffling off each work of art at an evening gala.

"Being selected as an artist for the 2015 Art of Giving helped bring more visibility to my small rural art studio. I received several inquiries from people who had seen my work featured in Down East and wanted to learn more about my paintings. But, the true highlight of the Art of Giving for me, was finally being able to really give back to BBCH and show my appreciation for all the good care my daughters and I received there. The money raised that night was more than I would have ever been able to donate or fundraise for on my own.— Susan Bartlett Rice, 2015 Art of Giving Artist"

Submissions must be entered by February 29, 2016. The selected artists will be notified of their acceptance into the program no later than April 8, 2016. Please direct any questions to bgildred@downeast.com.
