Connie Lundquist and Lee Cheever have joined creative forces to present a dynamic show.

Elements will be a featured art show at the Little Dog Coffee Shop, 87 Maine St, Brunswick during the month of August, 2014. Two artists, Connie Lundquist and Lee Cheever  join their creative forces for a multimedia exhibit.

A varied show, both abstract and realistic of assemblages, drawings, paintings and low relief sculptures with a core in art fundamentals and creative expression will be on view. The elements of art- shape, color, texture, line, space, value, form are the building blocks and focus of these multimedia artists.

“It’s the foundations of art, the life of the materials, and the inspiration of our environment that guide us in self expression. We anticipate that the works will speak to the viewer as well,” says Cheever.

Connie Lundquist, a resident of Brunswick, Maine is a professional artist who works predominately in the textures and compositions of assemblages. Her Brunswick studio has showcased her artwork for a number of years. Using bits and narrative suggesting pieces she composes work of visual complexity and enticement.

Lee Cheever, of Harpswell, will be showing a variety of her new works. Known as a sculptor and photographer from a recent showing at River Arts Gallery in Damariscotta, this Brunswick presentation will feature  compositions in drawings, prints, and low relief sculptures. A former art teacher, Cheever approaches her own art with an eye to structure as well as technique. Analysis of space and communication give her work a storytelling air.

Little Dog Coffee Shop is well known as being a showcase venue for up and coming artists as well as established professionals. The public is invited to visit the cafe during the month of August, during regular business hours and is welcomed to contact the artists.
