A solo show of new paintings by Colby Myer will be displayed at Vestibule 594 from May 6 to June 25. The opening reception is to be held on May 6, First Friday, from 5-8pm.

All of the artwork in this upcoming exhibit has been made alongside my students at the NYA art studio. I am a contemporary artist who sees no difference between my studio and the classroom.  I believe the fire of extensive field experience is what ignites my teaching. The NYA art studio is a laboratory of creative discovery:  it is a place where we are all learning through trial and error­. The curriculum I teach is a reflection of my own experiments. It nurtures the combination of old and new techniques, turns thinkers into makers, and challenges philosophy, nostalgia and tradition.
