Baroque Music Concert in Bucksport - Catharine Cloutier, mezzo-soprano, Hannah McGuire, flute and Andrew Cloutier, tenor, will join the Somerset Consort in an evening of Baroque music at the Elm Street Congregational Church in Bucksport on Friday, September 25 at 7 p.m.

The program includes music of Bach, Handel, Schutz, Telemann, Buxtehude, Croft, and Pez. There is no admission charge, but freewill donations will be taken to benefit the church, which is on the National Historic Register.

Catharine Cloutier is completing a degree in music education with a vocal concentration at the University of Maine. A private voice student of Francis Vogt, Catharine performs in several ensembles, most recently as a soloist and chorus member with Blue Hill Bach. Hannah McGuire earned a bachelor of music degree in flute performance in 2010 from the University of Maine, where she was a student of Liz Downing. Andrew Cloutier, a music education major with vocalconcentration at the University of Maine, studies voice with Marcia Gronewold Sly. Catharine, Hannah and Andrew are all former students of Diana Brookes.

Somerset Consort members are Diana Brookes Brown, flute, Lorna S. Russell, viola da gamba, and Carlton T. Russell, harpsichord. Diana has concertized throughout New England and teaches flute and voice at Waterfall Arts in Belfast. Lorna is also an organist and shares with her husband Carlton the music ministry at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Blue Hill. Carlton is Professor of  Music, Emeritus at Wheaton College, Norton, Massachusetts.

The church is located at the corner of Elm and Franklin Streets, and is handicap accessible. There is ample free parking in lots behind the church and across Franklin Street.
