The Waterville Public Library Carnegie Gallery presents an exhibition filled with child wonder and expression infused with that of an experienced artist. Abbott Meader is an artist many know for his wonderful landscape paintings. A former Colby College professor, Mr. Meader shares a selection of his most “honest and heartfelt” works in his Invention on a Child’s Drawing exhibition in the Carnegie Gallery at the Waterville Public Library through February 28, 2015. Mr. Meader shares sixteen bright and colorful paintings that took inspiration and elements directly from drawings done by his own children and grandchildren.
Come meet the artist! The Waterville Public Library has planned an artist reception for Mr. Meader to take place on Friday, January 30, 2015, 5:00-7:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.As part of “Bring Your Child to the Library Day” on Saturday, February 7th, Mr. Meader will be visiting the Library from 1:00 to 2:00 pm! Common Street Arts and the Colby College Museum of Art will provide drawing materials, so bring your imagination and come draw with the artist! This event is free and open to the public.
