The Seacoast's treasured New Orleans jazz band The Soggy Po' Boys return to The Dance Hall on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 7:00pm with a music and spoken word tribute to the legendary Louis Armstrong. A mainstay of the music and dance series at the Hall, the Po Boys will start the evening with a talk by trumpeter Zach Lange about the enormous impact of Armstrong's life on American culture and music.

The Soggy Po Boys are a New Orleans flavored octet based in the Seacoast of New Hampshire. With a repertoire of New Orleans standards, spirituals, contemporary music, and swing tunes, the Po Boys offer a lively blend of fun and insanity that often gets folks dancing whether they like it or not.

"When the Soggy Po Boys are in the house," according to Dance Hall director Drika Overton, " the music is always stellar and there is an infectious sense of joy. When I see a 5 year old and an 85 year old dancing in the same room, I can't help but think that this is the way life should be."

The Soggy Po Boys are: Eric Klaxton-Saxophone; Colin Mainella-Trumpet; Zach Lange-Trumpet; Nick Mainella-Saxophone; Mike Effenberger-Piano Stu Dias-Guitar and Vocals; Jim Rudolf-Drums; Claude Fried-Sousaphone.

All ages are welcome. Beer and wine is available. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased at www.thedancehallkittery.org or at www.brownpapertickets.com.
