Introducing MatchBook.org

MatchBook.org logoAvailable fall 2005, this free online booking service will spark connections between New England's performing artists, presenters and communities.

MatchBook.org endeavors to strengthen the creative industry by more efficiently linking artists in New England with the theaters, community centers, libraries, schools, galleries, festivals, clubs, coffeehouses and more that hire - or "book" - artists to provide cultural programming in their communities.

Brought to you by New England Foundation for the Arts, in partnership with the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the state arts agencies of Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Presenters/Venues

Presenters will use the site to locate appropriate artists, view work samples, negotiate and draw up contracts.

Do you have a facility or space for rent for performances? Do you want to advertise it more broadly, bring in more rental income, and pay nothing? Now's your chance!

From park bandstands to school cafeterias to 3,000- seat theaters, MatchBook.org is compiling a comprehensive online directory of performance spaces in New England. Be a part of it.

Get involved, add your performance space to this free online performing arts marketplace. It's fast, it's easy and it's free. To add your listing or learn more at go to www.matchbook.org.

Why should I list my venue?

  • Increase rental income. MatchBook.org will drive traffic to your listing, helping to generate more rentals of your venue.
  • Get marketed extensively. MatchBook.org will be advertised to performance organizers, party, wedding and corporate event planners, and performing artists throughout the region.
  • There is no charge. In keeping with our mission as a nonprofit arts organization, MatchBook.org is a free service.

Artists

Whether you are a contemporary dance company, string quartet, storyteller or fiddle player you will find MatchBook.org an invaluable, free tool in putting your best face forward to people and venues seeking to present you.

Performing artists from any of the six New England states can create an in-depth ‘profile’ on the site that includes a description of their work, photographs, fees, references, credentials, and for a small fee they can add streaming audio and video samples of their work.

If you are an artist looking to get more gigs, this site is for you! Get listed today, go to MatchBook.org for more information.

More information on MatchBook.org

The New England States Touring Roster of over 900 performing artists will automatically be included in MatchBook.org's searchable database. The site will also be available to any New England based performing artist who chooses to register and create a profile.

Both artists and presenters will have access to technical assistance such as how to document their work, find funding sources or get tips on writing a contract.

The site also provides an events calendar of professional development opportunities like conferences and workshops in the region, and a ‘classifieds’ section which will serve as an open forum for the arts community to post notices ranging from ‘rehearsal space for rent’ to ‘band seeks lead guitarist’.
