Steve embarked on his professional Art career with studies in Commercial Cartooning & Advertising at Los Angeles Trade Technical College in the early 80's. A large portion of his career focused on both Active Duty & Civilian Contracting in service to the US Military as a GRAPHIC ILLUSTRATOR/VISUAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST.
From ''Top Gun to Bottom Gun'' Steve Russell's illustrative style has been deployed for nearly two decades in such legendary Communities as the F-14 TOMCAT Squadrons of Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA with a more recent tour of artistic duty as Contract Graphic Illustrator (Via Lockheed Martin) in support of Public Affairs and the Tenant ''Fast Attack'' Submarine Commands, of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME. in 2005-06.
