wepushbuttons Announces Winners of 2009 Awards at Sept. 26 Event

On Saturday, September 26th 2009, the Maine electronic music community came together to celebrate its achievements and exemplars at the 3rd Annual wepushbuttons awards Show. The event, co-hosted by Todd the Rocket and A Frame, was held at the Empire Dine and Dance and was open to the public. The Awards event was the capstone event of the wepushbuttons: Electronic Music Festival, in its inaugural year.

At the event, awards were presented in over 16 categories of electronic music in all of its forms, including: hip hop, techno, house, dubstep, breaks and drum n bass. Winners were chosen out of a Maine-based pool of talent nominated by the WPB committee. Voting, which was open to the public, took place over a 3 week period in September via wepushbuttons.com.

The winners page can be found here:

and the complete list can also be found at the bottom of this release.

WPB Co-founder and Awards host Todd Richard comments,

?This year has marked an amazing move forward for WPB. The Awards event was a massive success, and that is obviously thanks to the unbelievable support from the music community as a whole in Maine. It?s gratifying to see audiences realize that electronic music is alive, well, and everywhere in our culture, on a local and global level.

The response to our debut electronic music festival has also shown us that not only are Maine musicians and audiences ready, but are waiting for more opportunities to showcase this art and craft. We're already gearing up for WPB:EMF 2010!
