River Arts is putting out a Call to Artists for its next exhibition due to open Friday, November 13, with an opening reception from 5-7pm. The show is called "Anything Goes" and it means just that - there are no restrictions on subject or medium. The exhibit will hang until January 8.
The juror for the show will be Andrea Sulzer who earned a baccalaureate degree in French, and masters degrees in Forest Biology, Education, and Fine Arts. She has worked as an instructor of English as a second language, a field ecologist, lab instructor in plant physiology, scientific illustrator and an instructor in Studio Art and Drawing. Her work has been exhibited internationally at galleries as varied as Plane Space in New York City, the Atrium Gallery in London, Sowaka Gallery in Kyoto and at the Tramway Gallery in Glasgow, Scotland. Additionally, Sulzer?s work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at ICON Contemporary Art in Brunswick, Maine and the Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockland.
Artists may submit up to three pieces for the exhibition. Work is to be delivered to the Coffin House at 170 Main Street - Damariscotta Friday, November 6th or Saturday, November 7th 10 AM to 4 PM. Entry fee: $15 members, $20 non-members, and only recent works (created in the last 3 years) will be considered. Check www.riverartsme.org for information about size, weight other details.
