John Paul Caponigro announced as judge of the 2010 Maine Photography Show

The Maine Photography Show Committee chairperson, LeeAnn LaFleur, has announced that the internationally-acclaimed photographer, lecturer and instructor: John Paul Caponigro has agreed to be the judge of the Maine Photography Show 2010. John Paul was enthusiastic about this opportunity to judge this annual state-wide-Maine cultural event. Caponigro will be following a prestigious list of previous MPS judges: Anne E. Havinga, Curator of Photographs, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, 2005; Susan Danly, Curator of Photography, Graphics, and Contemporary Art, Portland Museum of Art, 2006; Joyce Tenneson, international photographer, author, lecturer and instructor, 2007; and Elizabeth Greenberg, Photographer/artist, Educator and Director of Education, Maine Media Workshops, Rockport, 2008.

Entries for the 5th Annual Maine Photography Show will be taken starting December 1, 2009 and continue through February 1, 2010. Go to show?s website for entry and show details: www.mainephotographyshow.com.

$1000 in prize awards will be presented to the MPS winners. The four show categories are: Color, B/W, Student (18 and under), and this year?s themed category: Water... in all it?s forms.

This show is presented annually by the Boothbay Region Art Foundation and sponsored by Maine businesses and culturally-minded patrons. This year, The FIRST Bank, a charter sponsor, is again among the lead financial supporters. The MPS is the premier show of photography in Maine and is an opportunity for any business and/or person(s) to be among the vital MPS sponsors. The Maine Photography Show will open to the public on Saturday, April 17, and run through May 8, 2010 at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, One Townsend Ave., downtown Boothbay Harbor (diagonally across from the library).
