The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for advancing NEFA's marketing, communications, and public information goals, procedures, and strategies to position and promote NEFA locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
The Marketing & Communications Manager will develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications plan to include the development and oversight of a) marketing plans for NEFA's web-based tools and services, MatchBook.org and New England Cultural Database; b) a media relations strategy using both in-house and external resources; c) an email marketing strategy; and d) the use of new media/technology as appropriate.
The Marketing & Communications Manager will collaborate and work closely with the Communications Coordinator and with:
NEFA's Executive and Development staff to set the communications agenda for the year, and ensure its integration with the organization's fundraising/board development plans; NEFA's Program staff to plan and execute the arketing & communications needed across programs and initiatives; NEFA's Research Coordinator to set and meet annual goals for internal and external knowledge sharing, generating value from the organization's intellectual assets.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee all aspects of NEFA's "brand" identity/strategy; Conduct final review and edit of online content and print material (including guidelines, newsletters, invitations, brochures, fact sheets, press releases, research reports, online granting forms and framework); oversee NEFA website content & enhancements; oversee production & distribution of publications & rint/electronic collateral; Synchronize the external distribution of marketing & communications materials (both print and electronic) across programs; Oversee a standard operating procedure for the use of print material including letterhead & logos; Oversee the organization, development, and maintenance of NEFA mailing & subscriber lists; Work with program and development staff to plan and execute special events; Work with executive and development staff to plan and develop board materials and presentations; Develop and implement plan for the archiving of print material and other documentation significant to NEFA's institutional history.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Demonstrated skills in media relations, writing, publications management, e-marketing, web site development, staff supervision, community outreach, and developing effective marketing and public relations plans; Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build and cultivate relationships;
Highly organized and effective manager;
Strong collaborative team player able to work independently and as a self-starter;
Minimum 5 years experience as a marketing professional in an arts/cultural organization;
