The Wild Maine Media Project is an effort, led by young adults from Maine, that aims to capture the full sensory experience of the wilderness in the Moosehead Lake region through fine art, photography, the written word, sound and film. We will exhibit this work to encourage others to understand the unique quality of this area.
Any Maine artist under the age of 30 is called to camp and hike in the Moosehead lake region this summer and submit work based on their experience. The project is loosely based around the questions "What is Wild? and Do you need it?"
All submitted work will be displayed on the Wild Maine website and the best pieces will be in a juried show, which will be exhibited around Portland (and possibly further North)in the fall.
This is an excellent opportunity for young artists to respond creatively to current events and for Maine youth as a whole to join the discussion about Maine's future.
Email, hello@wildmaine.org for more information about the submission process and the project.
