Theatre Troupe for 13-18 year olds

Category: Residency/Workshop
For: Artists, Art Educators, Organizations
Disciplines: Acting, Design (costume, light, sound), Puppetry, Storytelling
Deadline:

THE THEATRE TROUPE

A new program for 13-18 year old students who are interested in producing and creating 45 to 50 minute shows that will actually perform on Saturday Mornings at Acorn Studios (for those Portland ME natives older than 30... yes with peanut butter sandwiches... or whatever is "non allergenic" these days).

Program will consist of two two hour classes each week @ $10 per hour ($20 per class, $40 per week.)

Enrollment allows each actor 4 comp tickets. The rest of the tickets will sell for $6.00 each.

Each session will be 6 weeks long ($240 per session).

Students will learn:

Theatre Production, Puppetry, Acting, Technical Theatre, Playwrighting and Physical Comedy

while focusing on a single final production.

At least the first production will be a play FOR children.

Should the program continue, the Theatre Troupe could produce it's own original plays, classical plays, contemporary plays and perhaps an outreach program involving some LIGHT weekend touring to other areas in Southern Maine.

This program can start as soon as enough (6 or more) students are signed up.
