Open Waters Theatre Arts announces two Core Artist openings for the original performance project Of Farms and Fables. Commitment runs part-time from April 2010 through September 2011. We are currently looking to hire one actor and one playwright to develop a community-based performance featuring local farmers. These positions are paid. Core Artists will participate in a work exchange in the summer of 2010 and will be required to work a limited number of hours per week on each of our participating farms. Additional responsibilities vary for each artist, but may include: conducting performance workshops for local farm employees, assistance with project development and planning, participation in casting, presence at rehearsals and performances, coaching performers, writing, and performance. Project will culminate in an outdoor performance event in the summer of 2011. While preference will be given to qualified candidates living in Maine, we are happy to consider artists in other locations.
