Franco-American Heritage Center
Grant: $4,500The grant money supports a project that will make essential repairs to the accessible parking and adjacent elevator entry areas that provide Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access to the center’s 450-seat Performance Hall (upper level) and 325-capacity Heritage Hall (lower level). The building, a former church, is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. The project is essential to the community facility’s upkeep and access.

Hancock County Auditorium Associates
Grant: $4,500The grant money supports improvements and renovations to the auditorium. Projects have been prioritized to correct drainage issues that have allowed the theatre flood seasonally and during heavy rains. The rear retaining wall has collapsed, taking with it a drain which allows for ground water to be channeled into the City of Ellsworth sewage system. Renovation includes excavating and replacing the existing foundation and drain, grading the earth to about 10 feet back and removing the concrete wall.
