“A Long Break From Love”
Grant: $1,500This grant supports Growing Season, a project that combines original woodblock prints and hip hop music to create a visual and auditory experience of one man's journey into adulthood. The songs on this album tell the stories of personal development, the struggles and successes, the funny stories, the sad stories and everything in between. The idea is to combine two practices—printmaking and music making--into a concept album wherein each song has a corresponding print that illustrates a moment in that song's lyrics. The album will be created by collaborating with local printmakers, bookbinders and hip hop.
