Hatchfund

Welcome to Hatchfund

The Maine Arts Commission is proud to be a partner with Hatchfund, a thriving creative community that connects accomplished artists working in America with eager supporters, premier arts organizations and art lovers.

Hatchfund hosts an online community where artists can post projects for funding and connect with those who love and support artists. Their goal is to help artists successfully navigate the challenging world of online fundraising for their projects.

The Hatchfund team provides educational services, from fundraising 101 to case studies and best practices for project development and outreach support. A total of 75 percent of all artists who turned to Hatchfund succeed in funding their projects. Hatchfund offers a patent-pending matching fund program, the only one of its kind, which encourages and leverages contributions to help artists succeed faster.

The Maine Arts Commission will provide support by matching qualifying artists dollar for dollar up to $250.

The benefits of Hatchfund are:

  • Hatchfund is 100 percent free for artists
  • Artists have access to personalized project development and fundraising support from an assigned program officer.
  • Donations to artists’ projects are tax deductible for every donor; this means larger donations on average ($124) for your project.
  • This forum has a 75 percent success rate, with over $5million raised as of August 2013.

You can view some previously successful projects on the Hatchfund website. You can also track the funding available on the Maine Arts Commission's Match Fund Page.
