Mindfulness & Meditation - John Stewart

Join us in exploring mindfulness and meditation in a workshop based on the Search Inside Yourself (SIY) program. The goal of this 60-minute session is to help you thrive, enjoying greater resilience, productivity, effectiveness, and happiness in all aspects of your work and outside of work. It focuses on the areas of mindfulness (the science of being present), self-awareness (understanding your thoughts, emotions, and habits), and empathy (understanding others’ feelings and experiences).
The mindfulness and emotional intelligence skills you'll learn will help you:
- Experience greater well-being, resilience, and stress management.
- Improve performance, collaboration, and empathy.
- Increase effectiveness and decision-making capacity.
- Cultivate innovative, creative thinking.
John’s business career spans over 30 years working in technology companies in Rochester, New York. He is currently a Technical Product Manager/Team Lead at Pharos Systems, International, providing print management solutions for mindful businesses around the world. Before that he was the co-founder and Managing Director of Ten Technologies, LLC.
John’s passion is guiding companies, communities, and individuals in integrating mindfulness practices. By growing Emotional Intelligence skills John helps people better navigate the complex world of human interaction. This allows them to be better individual performers, better leaders and overall happier people.
John is a Search Inside Yourself (SIY) Certified Teacher. Search Inside Yourself guides participants through a 2-day, retreat-like experience that combines emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and neuroscience to offer participants tools to bring out their best and most effective self. Through a combination of content and experiential exercises, the program helps people make real changes in their professional and personal life.
John is also a graduate of the SIY Engage program. Provided by the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI), Engage is their advanced mindfulness and emotional intelligence training. It integrates deep personal development with practices for introducing mindfulness to organizations and creating positive change.
John is a facilitator and primary contributor to the corporate Change Management program at Pharos. For the past decade, this program has been taught to all Pharos employees. It provides skills and tools for successfully managing change, both at work and at home.
John is an avid reader and lifelong learner. He is fascinated by the expanding list of findings in neuroscience which provide a scientific basis for mindfulness practice. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Union College. He is a member of the Pittsford Federal Credit Union Board of Directors.
