Call for Artwork for "200 Years of Farming: A Bicentennial Celebration"

  Maine Farmland Trust Gallery is issuing a reminder for a call for artwork for their upcoming Bicentennial Exhibit that will run July 13- October 2.

In celebration of Maine's Bicentennial, this show focuses on the history, practices, triumphs, and challenges of farming in Maine over the last 200+ years- from Indigenous farming and early homesteading to dairy, potatoes, blueberries, the local food movement, and present day changes and challenges. This exhibit will encompass a wide range of media to depict the rich history of farming in Maine, including glass plate photographic prints on loan from the Penobscot Marine Museum.

We are presently open to 2D and 3D submissions in any medium. Works should not exceed 48 x 48". To submit work, you must be an artist living and working in Maine, and work submitted must relate to the theme of the exhibit. 

Work submissions due May 30, 2020. Please send an email to Gallery Coordinator Karen Giles karen@mainefarmlandtrust.org , with up to 5 attached works in high res .jpgs, labled in the format Artist Name_Title of Work_medium_size(HxW)_price.jpg 

Notification of final decisions made June 4, 2020.  Delivery of accepted works will be July 6 and 7, 9 AM- 3 PM at MFT Gallery, 97 Main St., Belfast (unless CODID-19 restrictions still in place, then show will be virtual- check our website for updates and to view current virtual show).
