Call for Entry: Architectonic
- March 25, 2019
The Foundry Art Centre is seeking submissions for “Architectonic”, an all-media exhibition highlighting works that are inspired by architecture or that incorporate architectural elements. Works may depict actual architectural forms, or may approach the theme less literally by incorporating grids or other structural lines. The visual language of drafting, such as plans, elevations, and cross-sections, may also be utilized in the artwork.
Artists are invited to submit up to three pieces of artwork. Entries must be submitted by June 3, 2019. “Architectonic” will open with a reception on Friday, July 26, 2019, from 5:30-8 pm in the Main Gallery and Grand Hall. The exhibition will be on display from July 26, 2019 to September 13, 2019. Three prizes will be awarded at the Opening Reception: two Juror’s Choice Awards of $200, and a Going Solo Award that offers the recipient a solo exhibition in one of our galleries.
Nancy Newman Rice will serve as juror for this exhibition. Her paintings, which utilize architecture elements as a primary feature, have been displayed internationally in museums and galleries. She recently retired as director of Studio Art at Maryville University. To learn more about this call for entry, visit www.foundryartcentre.org.
