Call to Artists - Change
Roux & Cyr International Fine Art Gallery is calling all artists to submit work for jurying into their upcoming show titled “Change”. Change in anything. Change in weather, change in seasons, change in attitudes, change as in money, change vehicles, lightbulbs or seats, change in color, change in light. Be creative and put your own twist on it. Change is everywhere.
The show, held at the gallery at 48 Free Street, Portland Maine, will run from October 5 through October 25, 2018. We encourage original paintings in realism, ranging from traditional to impressionism. Works entered must be original having the longest dimension no larger than 48”, created within the last 3 years and submitted by the artist.
The juror will be Adam Tice.
Artists may submit up to three works for an entry fee of $25. Additional images are $5 each. The jurying process will be done by images only. Do not deliver artwork at this time. Please submit hi-res JPEGS no larger than 5MB in size. Each image must be titled by: Artist name + painting title. Artists will be notified by email of the Juror’s decision.
Paintings selected should be framed in Gold Plein Air Frames (2.5” or wider) or done on painted Gallery wrap canvas, properly wired and ready to hang. Frames may be purchased from Roux & Cyr Gallery. If gallery framing is desired, please indicate gallery framing on entry form to ensure availability. Any artwork shipped to the gallery will require return shipping paid by the artist.
Submission deadline: August 10, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
Delivery dates: Sept 20-22 during regular gallery hours.
Pick up Dates: Oct 26-27 during regular gallery hours.
Opening Reception: Oct 5, 2018 from 5-8.
Prizes in the form of gallery exhibition in the studio space will be awarded to:
First Place: Solo exhibit plus a waved entry fee for next year.
People’s Choice (to be announced at 7:30 during the opening) Solo exhibit plus a waved entry fee for next year.
Second Place: Two person gallery exhibition plus a waved entry fee for next year.
Third Place: Two person gallery exhibition plus a waved entry fee for next year.
Honorable Mention: Waved entry fee for next year.
Selected artists receive:
Inclusion in Portland’s largest Art Gallery.
Professional exhibition space and display of artwork.
Posting about the exhibition on Roux & Cyr International Fine Art Gallery website and social media.
Press releases about the exhibition sent to Roux & Cyr Gallery’s media outlets.
Digital show announcement on gallery letterhead for your email list and social media.
