EDGE OF MAINE FRAME SHOP AND ART GALLERY

Erika Wade has made Brownfield an important part of her life for forty years. Her paintings and constructions imbue the variety of views, shapes, weather, and colors that surround that section of town called ‘the Old Blake Farm.’ Erika Wade joined a group there in 1977, at the top of Old County Road, which opens up to the foothills and mountains of the Mount Washington Valley. “By painting these treasured places they are captured in time forever.”
The region is historically rich in noted landscape painters. Just a few miles down the road the Mt Washington School painter, George Albert Frost, married Lydia Blake back in the late 19th century. Erika Wade is also invested in the raw natural beauty of these places in the ever changing seasons. These new paintings import a sense of a captivating presence removed from the pressures of development and changing climate.
