Prospect — Fort Knox opened to the public this season on May 8. The Friends of Fort Knox are still seeking to provide some of the regular summer events within the safety guidelines and restrictions. More information will be available as it develops, but new this year will be a performance by the Stage Fright at the Fort ensemble.

Stage Fright at the Fort announces auditions for "Broken Bridges," to be performed in the outdoor amphitheater Friday through Sunday, July 10 through 12, at 7 p.m., in front of a small audience.

Laura Emack’s one-act play recounts the 1958 election of Marion Laforge, Prospect’s first female selectman, over husband Elwood’s vigorous objections. Significant roles include: Marion (50-ish), Elwood (60-ish), Hazel (21), and Mary Lynn (13). The ad-hoc troupe also seeks actors of any age for several minor roles, as well as a production stage manager. All positions will be filled by volunteers so that pay-what-you-wish box office can go entirely to the Friends of Fort Knox in this challenging time.

Director Sandi Blanchette plans one-on-one auditions to be held at the Prospect Community Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 9 and 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., and by appointment. For more information or to schedule an audition time, call 567-3437. To request a copy of the script, email LKECPA@fairpoint.net.
