Percent for Art: Mt. Ararat High School - Deadline April 10, 2018

PERCENT FOR ART COMPETITION:

Mt. Ararat High School Topsham, Maine OVERVIEW The Maine Arts Commission is making a call to all artists who are residents of Maine to submit proposals to design, create and install artwork at the new Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, Maine. The total project budget is approximately $45,000.00 and the submission deadline is April 10, 2018, 5:00 p.m. EST. The Percent for Art law in Maine reserves one percent of the construction funds for all state-funded building projects to provide artwork for the public areas of these buildings and /or their exterior renovations and additions.

LOCATION OPTIONS: Listed below are all the possible locations for artwork. Artists may address any or all of these areas in their proposals. Location 1: Grounds flanking main entrance (approximately 8 x 48 ft. on either side) Location 2: Grounds flanking after-hours/student parking entry (approximately 15 x 15 ft. on either side) Location 3: Three exterior forum panel walls (Wall A: 13’11 ½” x 29’11”; Wall B: 13’11 ½” x 23’6”; Wall C: 13’11 ½” x 13’6”) Location 4: Pond landscaping (approximately 50 x 50 ft.) Location 5: Main entry atrium floor (12 x 24” porcelain tiles; see diagram for layout) Location 6: Interior atrium entry walls (varied heights; see diagram for layout) 2 Location 7: Atrium ceiling (see diagram for layout) Location 8: Learning Commons stairwell and wall (see diagram for layout)
