Seanachie Nights welcomes NY Storyteller Lorraine Hartin-Gelardi
Seanachie Nights Celtic Storytelling is pleased to feature Lorraine Hartin-Gelardi,telling “Into the Faery Realm: Tales of Mischief & Magic”, with music on fiddle and concertina from the regulars.
Last year, Lorraine told “A Tree Grows in Clare”, the story of the time the Irish authorities rerouted a major highway because it was never a good idea to cut down a "fairy tree." This year, Lorraine will return to the Faerie realms, including her story, “A Mother’s Quest”, a story inspired by the Scottish folktale, “The Stolen Bairn”. Plus, other tales of faery mischief.
Lorraine Hartin-Gelardi is co-founder with Karen Pillsworth of Tall Tale/Short Story Productions which produces “storytelling events for grown-ups” in the Kingston, NY area.
Her book, Wisdom in the Telling Finding Inspiration and Grace in Traditional Folktales and Myths Retold, was the winner of the 2008 Storytelling World Resource Award for Special Storytelling Resources.
