About the Artist
I am a sound artist and independent radio producer. I spent years as a visual artist before sound caught my ear. My sound works have aired nationally on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" and on many public and community radio stations throughout the U.S.
I have given many workshops in audio production and Radio Theater to artists, producers and students. This includes: at California State University Media Production, at Concordia University, Montreal at a women in sound technology conference, at Maine College of Art, at Bridgewater Theater Arts in Virginia and at several Audubon Chapters for my recordings of bird sounds.
For over 10 years I have been a staff member of the National Audio Theatre Festival's annual Audio Workshop, teaching digital audio editing and producing the live radio theater performance that is broadcast nationally. In 1991-1992, I served as chair of the Media Arts Panel at the Maine Arts Commission.
I teach independent study to audio engineering majors at the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA), and I teach Radio Theater as a visiting artist. For over 15 years, I worked as a media specialist at the distance education network (ITV) of UMA. I produced educational media and videos for online classes. Currently I work at the Instructional Technology Media Services at the University of Southern Maine.
But my true passion is my sound work.
