Join artist Philip Frey for a unique plein air workshop at Schoodic Institute. Your days will begin early, painting on location in Acadia and Winter Harbor, Maine. To prepare for the next day, demos and critiques will be held during the afternoon session with a break mid-day. Emphasis will be placed on perceptual painting: color, light and movement, as they change before you. In addition, you will explore color theory, the elements of good design and dynamic paintings through specific assignments and daily one-on-one instruction. Meals and lodging are included.

Details
As this will be an intensive workshop, plein air painting and good drawing skills at the intermediate or advanced level are required. Come prepared for unpredictable Maine weather (wind, sun, bugs and rain). In the case of rain, we will paint indoors or under cover outside. Philip will be painting in oil but has experience with acrylic, watercolor and dry media. Bring your medium of choice.
