Memorial Day weekend is on it's way! It's also opening weekend for the Maine Art Gallery’s 2015 season.  Several exciting events are already planned for the gallery at 15 Warren Street, Wiscasset, Maine. This year Spring begins with a special juried 2015 Opening offer. We’ve extended the month of June in both directions to include the Memorial Day weekend and the 4th of July weekend - the perfect excuse for TWO artist receptions! 

The Maine Art Gallery, in the Old Academy building, is a bright and airy exhibition location, and a part of the vibrant Wiscasset Museum in the Streets historic walking tour.  The gallery is offering 4 by 8 foot panels for a limited number of artists, and equivalent pedestal sculpture space as well.  Interested artists should submit 3 images of their work via email attachment (.jpg format – maximum size 1500 px on the longest side ) to magwiscasset@gmail.com. 

You will be notified via email if your work is accepted.  If you are accepted, you may hang as many works as you like on your panel(s) leaving a six inch minimum border at all edges. Artists are responsible for their own installations. There is no gallery commission for sales.  Panel fees are $150 for May 23rd through July 5th (6 weeks! – our normal display time is 4 weeks).  Artists may lower their panel fee by scheduling days to attend the gallery, giving them the additional opportunity to meet visitors and speak about their work.  What better way to sell your work than to put a face to your beautiful art? 

The Artist’s presence is required at receptions, as your work will be publicized by the gallery. Payment is by check upon acceptance.  Submissions will be considered until May 10th and spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis.  Please email questions to magwiscasset@gmail.com.
