Call to Artists for exhibit at Macpage LLC

South Portland, ME -Macpage LLC welcomes artist submissions for its next juried art exhibit “Conversations,” to be on display with guest artists Diane Dahlke and Bonnie Spiegel. The theme of “Conversations” is intended to explore relationships between thoughts, abstract concepts, natural elements, people, etc. Ultimately, this is up to the individual artist’s interpretation. This next show follows the successful Summer Classic exhibition, in which nearly 30 artists showcased over 50 pieces of work.  The upcoming exhibit will be on display from October 16 through April 20. Macpage will not take a commission of any work sold. All media is encouraged, please see specifications below.

There will be an opening reception at Macpage on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Rules of Entry

·        Submissions:  Artists may enter for consideration up to three (3) pieces. Submissions will be accepted electronically to the email listed below; please include high quality JPEG samples of the work, as they may appear on the postcard or website, and the Entry Form on page 2.

Please title your email: “Macpage Conversations Submission”.

NOTE:  We are unable to accept any works expressing and/or representing nude figures.

·        Size limits:  Two-dimensional work must not exceed 100” wide x 60” tall, including the frame. Three-dimensional work must not exceed 3’ in width or height. Three-dimensional artists may need to provide pedestals for sculptural work; some display tables will be available. Weight of pieces must not exceed 40 lbs. Please note that storage space is limited, therefore artists are requested to adhere to the pick-up and drop-off dates listed below.

·        Framing:  Frames and canvases must be wired and ready to hang.

·        Selection Process:  “Conversations” will be a juried exhibition; jurors will include Judy O’Donnell, Diane Dahlke and Bethany Mitchell. Artists’ names will be removed from their pieces, resulting in a “blind” judging process.

·        Important Dates:

o   August 13th, by 5:00 p.m. – Electronic submissions due to Brianna Leclerc at brl@macpage.com

o   August 20th, by 5:00 p.m. – Announcement of works chosen

o   September 22 and September 23 before 4:00 p.m. – Artwork dropped off at Macpage LLC, 30 Long Creek Drive, South Portland, ME  04106

o   October 16, 5:00-7:00 p.m. – Show Opening at Macpage LLC

o   April 20 and 21, 2015 before 4:00 p.m. – Pick up work
