David Driskell's solo show entitled "Visual Encounters: Recent Work" will be up August 6 – 29. The opening reception will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, August 6. His artist talk will be at 1:30 p.m. at Greenhut Galleries on Saturday, August 15.

Driskell is a leading authority on African American art. His contributions to scholarship in the history of art include many books and more than 40 catalogs for exhibitions he has curated. His essays on the subject of African American art have appeared in major publications throughout the world. His paintings are in the collections of major museums throughout the world including the National Gallery of Art, the High Museum of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Yale University Art Gallery, and the Portland Museum of Art.
