Down East Magazine is pleased to continue the Art of Giving in 2015. The Art of Giving program pairs an artist with a Maine charity of their choice to raise money through art for causes near and dear to all of us. This year, we are soliciting applications from Maine artists. Ultimately, four artists and their works of art will be selected to participate. In turn, each of the selected artists will be featured in one issue in a special Art of Giving section that will appear in the June through September issues of Down East magazine.

At the end of the summer, we will join together in a celebration to raise money for the artist-selected charities by raffling off each work of art at an evening gala tentatively scheduled for a Thursday evening in September. One hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket sales to the gala will be divided between the four charities. To see a video recap of the 2014 Art of Giving Gala, click here.

Any artist interested in participating in the Art of Giving can fill out a short, online form at www.downeast.com/art-of-giving-2015 to submit their art.

Entries are due by March 14, 2015. 

Artists and their corresponding art will be reviewed by Down East and the selected artists will be notified of their acceptance into the program no later than April 6, 2015.
