About the Artist

Renaissance Voices is a 24-voice, auditioned a cappella chorus based in Portland, Maine. Our core repertoire highlights music from the medieval period through the 17th century, though concerts regularly feature more contemporary work, often premiering works by both new and established composers.

We offer two concert cycles each year, reaching over 2,000 audience members. The December concert presents primarily sacred music appropriate for the Christmas holiday season, and the Spring concert presented in the spring and early summer is more secular in nature. Distinctive to our group's mission is an ongoing commitment to presenting the works of women composers. Unique to our concerts is the inclusion of short readings that complement and expand the themes of the musical repertoire.

Renaissance Voices is comprised of both professional and amateur musicians and enjoys an ever-widening fan base throughout Southern and Central Maine.
