About the Artist

The mission of No Repeats Fiberworks is to celebrate the world around us in the colors of Maine in Maine Landscape Hats, Abstract Flower Garden Hats, and a variety of floral, heart and landscape needle felted pins. Jo creates her own yarns by starting with raw Maine fleeces, cleaning and dying them herself before spinning them into Abstract Flower Garden Hats or simple wam beanies that highlight the beautiful colors of the different breeds of sheep grown in Maine. Her hats include a wide range of style from simple beanies to complex landscapes that focus on Maine's watery and mountainous landscape. The Maine Landscape hats are created by blending commercial yarns to get the colors and textures of Maine. Jo is a Registered Maine Guide and these landscapes are memories of her extensive travels through Maine. Crocheting since 1956, she has created one of a kind hats and sold them at craft shows while raising a family and working as a small business manager and consultant. Her dream was to only do hats, and now she is only doing hats.
