About the Artist

The name Arcadia, originally a region in accient Greece, represents the Renaissance concept of idyllic tranquility. The Rogues represent an intrusion into this this haven of peace with the dissonances and often bazarre phrasing of the new Baroque music, music born of the rise of Humanism.
The Rogues of Arcadia, a New England based chamber music ensemble including Michael Albert and Anthony Allen-baroque violins, Angus Lansing-viola da gamba and Henry Lebedinsky-harpsichord, presents this music with all the verve, improvisation and ornamentation of "Bohemian Gypsies". All the members of the group have performed to high critical acclaim. Join them as they present to you 17th and early 18th century music in a way that will knock your socks off and rock your world.
