About the Artist

Guitarist/educator Gary Wittner has thrilled audiences of all ages internationally with music presentations for over 2 decades. Chosen twice as a Kennedy Center Jazz Ambassador, Gary presents the Latino duo ''Dos Canosos'' and ''Our American Musical Heritage'' (which includes Rock & Roll, Blues, Folk, Jazz, Country, etc). Informative, entertaining and educational, these popular programs include interactive components and can be directly related to Music, Spanish, and History courses. In ''Dos Canosos'', Gary is joined by Cuban vocalist Raul Freyre in performing traditional Latin songs, up tempo Salsa dance tunes and pop classics (Beates, Ray Charles, etc) arranged in the Latino style. Stories and information about Cuban culture, bi-lingual presentations and basic Latino dance steps can also be presented. Both musicians play, sing, and use foot pedals for additional percussion, getting up to 7 musical parts simultaneusly - a very big sound for only 2 people!
