Sunday Afternoon at The Dance Hall: Peggo & Paul with Kent Allyn

On Sunday, October 23 at 3pm Peggo & Paul with Kent Allyn present an afternoon of music at The Dance Hall in Kittery.

Peggo and Paul Hodes met to play music when Peggo advertised in the Boston Phoenix for a husband under the guise of looking for a guitar player to round out her folk duo. Two kids, seven albums and thirty-seven years later, theyre still making music together. He plays by ear. She is a classically trained vocalist. Happily, the talented multi-instrumentalist Kent Allyn, their long-time collaborator, helps them bridge both musical worlds and make it through rehearsals unscathed. In the early days, Peggo and Paul toured and played music for kids and families, winning two Parents Choice awards for their innovative kid friendly rock and roll. With Kent, they’ve played fairs, festivals, concerts, coffee-houses, band shells and the White House.

These days, they weave together elements of pop, jazz, traditional folk, singer-songwriter, and originals that feature Peggos wide-ranging vocal abilities, Pauls bluesy bent, Kents rhythmic and harmonic flavors and a whole lot of humor. This is their first hometown Dance Hall appearance and they are delighted at the short commute.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased at TheDanceHallKittery.org and Brownpapertickets.com.
