Darcy grew up on Holbrook Island with her parents, Hal and Andrea and her brother Josh.  Being on an island lends to treasure hunting with every walk of the beach. Darcy always collected shells, stones and glass which are incorporated into my designs. As a child, when she would leave the island for the day, she would fill a little backpack with treasures and then complain to her mom about having "heavy hands." Even as a child, she found it hard to leave my beach behind.  Leaving Holbrook Island forever broke her heart.

As an adult living out of State, visits home meant quiet time with family and hikes on the beaches of Brooksville. She would squirrel treasures away and once again take my beach with her. Now, living back home in Maine for good, she enjoys the puzzle of tumbled glass that has become her art. It is a way to share her love of this beautiful town.  All of the glass used to create this art was found right here in our corner of heaven.

The exhibit is on display at the Brooksville Free Public Library through the month of June.
