One Day Watercolor Painting with Instructor Deena Ball Wednesday, August 21st from 9AM-4PM. Spend a day demystifying plein air watercolor painting. Learn to capture our beautiful landscape simply and effectively using watercolors. The class will meet at one Yarmouth location in the morning and another nearby location in the afternoon. Students will begin with compositional sketches and receive basic pointers for developing an engaging landscape composition. The group will spend about 40 minutes on basic watercolor techniques and brush handling. This will be followed by a demonstration of a three-layer landscape painting. Students will paint along in order to learn the simple three-layer method for plein air painting. If time allows, students can complete another three-layer painting, or they can add finishing touches to their paint-along piece. In the afternoon, we will change locations, and students will create their own watercolor painting using the three-layer method. There will be plenty of help and individual attention. We will end the workshop with a supportive group critique. ALL STUDENTS must bring a sketch book, drawing pencil and black sharpies. Please bring your lunch to eat on site.

This event is part of the Plein Air Art Festival which features ten days of art activities in the outdoors. Now in its fifth year, the festival partners with artists, crafts people, and non-profits to offer high quality, interaction experiences to the public for free. available.
