Pianist Donna Mulzet Beech, in collaboration with her violinist–husband Martin Beech, will present a delightful music concert of early 20th-century American women composers, including Ann Wyeth McCoy and Amy Beach.

Donna Mulzet Beech received a doctorate of musical arts degree from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from West Chester University. She has appeared as soloist with orchestras in southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware, and has performed as chamber musician and soloist throughout the mid-Atlantic area. 

On the faculty of The Music School of Delaware since 1979, Dr. Beech is part of the Master Faculty with Distinction and has twice chaired the Keyboard Department. She has served on the faculty of Immaculata University. In addition, she maintains an independent studio where she offers instruction in piano and music theory, and is active as an accompanist for professionals and students alike. She serves as adjudicator for PA, DE, MD, and NJ music teacher associations, and has lectured on topics such as “The Development of Pianism” and “Learning and Memory.” Her students have included finalists and semi-finalists in national and international competitions. In 2017, she published the book Piano Music of Ann Wyeth McCoy, working in tandem with Ann’s daughter Robin McCoy, and has since presented it in lecture-recital/slide-presentation format at museums and schools in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maine. Since 1987 Dr. Beech has been music director at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, where she also collaborates with music directors in southeastern PA and northern DE to present ecumenical services and concerts. She and her violinist–husband Martin perform regularly with the Kennett Trio. In 2008 Donna established the Jonathan Beech Memorial Concert, an annual benefit in memory of her older son who lost his battle with a brain tumor in 2007 at the age of fifteen. She lives in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, with her husband and their son David.
