2b Acting’s Comedy Monologue Projectorgrams events start September 2018

  • August 28, 2018

After a successful at The Royal Park pub in April 2018, 2b Acting’s is bringing its unique Comedy Monologue Projectorgrams events to bars in Leeds and Manchester between September 2018 and April 2019.

Projectorgrams, according to 2b Acting, are the forerunner to the use of holograms for live performances. Projected videos, controlled via a Web App, are used to involve a live audience into the projected Comedy Monologue videos, creating a new entertainment experience.

Perhaps controversial, using videoed actors to deliver what is traditionally expected from live artists come with significant advantages. First, it allows producers, like 2b Acting to have many more talent on an evening’s entertainment would be possible with a live line-up, due to cost. This means wider exposure for more artists and a greater range of talent for audiences to enjoy. Second, it is now possible for an artist to appear at a number of venues at the same time. Getting recognised in the industry is every actor’s dream and therefore any platform that improves exposure for artists is a bonus. Third, and what is considered by 2b Acting as the most important step forward in using this technology, is the new market it creates for actors.

“We used ten very talented actors to put together the Comedy Monologues for the first event and have recruited another four to add to the library and broaden the diversity of the show. This is a small example of Projectorgrams creating work opportunities for actors to perform in venues where their talent is not normally seen.”, says David Jones, 2b Acting’s project coordinator. “Imagine how many actors will benefit when we roll out Projectorgrams across the country and even better when we take it worldwide.”

The new actors adding their talents to the existing range of Comedy Monologue Projectorgrams are Libby Grant, Danielle Jameson, Edwina Lea and Amelia Grimes.

Tickets for the upcoming tour are available from Ticketweb.co.uk and involves venues such as The Royal Park pub, Editors Draught, Verve and The Fenton in Leeds and Gullivers in Manchester.
