Arts Education for ME Celebration Week: March 28 – April 1
This year the series of hour-long virtual events will focus on supporting arts educators and students throughout the last week of March. The effort is led by Maine Alliance for Arts Education (MAAE), with arts education leaders from all the disciplines, MAEPL, MAC, and DOE. A highlight this year is actor John Lithgow will be speaking on Thursday March 31, having chaired the production of a new report Art for Life’s Sake: The Case for Arts Education by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; we are honored that Representative Chellie Pingree will also speak about new legislation, the Arts Education for All Act.
