[elbow room] accepting submissions of original performance works
- June 13, 2017
A co-production with Waterfall Arts, [elbow room] is a space for incubating and presenting original performance, storytelling & theatre experiments for mature audiences.
What we do: In [elbow room] we sustain our process of original performance creation while curating and cultivating experimental performance within our regional community.
How it works: We take turns supporting and producing new, original works. We also share responsibilities in producing evenings of performance by artists in the community.
What we are and what we are not: Think small, incremental, and sustainable! We incubate experimental works in progress. Excerpts of works in progress or short works are welcome, along with full-length work. With some exceptions for productions with simple production elements, we cannot fully produce or sponsor works. One free tech rehearsal and one free performance slot, with limited tech are available. No compensation is offered. Proceeds go to Waterfall Arts.
What we are looking for: We seek original, experimental works: solo performance, performance poetry, movement theatre, non-traditional plays, storytelling, and multimedia works that include live performance elements. Maine artists are given preference, however others are welcome to submit.
Submission process: Visit our Submissions Page for guidelines. Rolling submissions are currently accepted. Submit your work, along with completed application to firstname.lastname@example.org. Allow up to 6 weeks for us to respond. Contact email@example.com with questions.
