Artist Call: Eerie, Uncanny, Remarkable
- March 24, 2025
Exhibition Dates: September 5 - October 26, 2025
Description: The Brick Store Museum invites artists to submit work for Eerie, Uncanny, Remarkable, a multi-artist exhibition that delves into what the 19th century called “phantasmagoria.” The Brick Store Museum invites artists to submit work for Phantasmagoria, a spine-tingling exhibition celebrating the eerie, uncanny, and remarkable. Timed for the Halloween season, this October showcase will highlight artwork inspired by folklore, the supernatural, and the ever-evolving fascination with all things spooky.
We welcome work that: Explores folklore & legends (Ghost stories, myths, and eerie tales passed through generations); peeks beyond the veil (Art that contemplates the afterlife, spirits, and the unknown); examines mortality & the macabre (Artistic reflections on life, death, and what may lie beyond); embraces the eerie & spooky aesthetic (From gothic elegance to haunting surrealism); or showcases modern takes on haunted themes (the rise of Halloween culture, paranormal curiosity, and the enduring appeal of the supernatural in contemporary life).
Through painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and installation, the exhibit will immerse visitors in a world where the shadows dance, legends come to life, and the spirit of the season takes form.
Eligibility: Open to artists working in all media, including painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, textile, and digital art. Submissions must be original works that align with the theme of the exhibition (above). Work must be ready to hang or display.
