Call for Artists for the 10th Annual 10x10 Art Exhibit and Sale to Benefit Arts Are Elementary

CALL FOR ARTISTS! It's time to register for the 10th (!) Annual Brunswick 10x10 Art Exhibit and Sale. We strongly encourage you to apply online, as it makes life easier for both you and us: http://10x10brunswick.org/application-form/. If you want to fill out and mail a paper application, you can download one from the website. Based on our survey of artists and past buyers, we've made a lot of changes this year. We hope these changes will inspire you and result in more sales. Sales are good not only for you, but for Arts Are Elementary, as the 10x10 is AAE’s primary annual fundraiser.
2017 CHANGES:
NEW SIZES. We will accept four sizes: 8x10, 10x10, 12x12, and 12x24. Artists who opt to submit a 12x24 may submit just the one piece. All other artists may submit up to two pieces, which do not have to be the same size. (For instance, an artist could submit one 10x10 and one 8x10.)
NEW PRICING. 8x10s and10x10s will sell for $200 apiece; 12x12s will sell for $250; 12x24s will sell for $300. All proceeds will be split evenly between Arts Are Elementary and the artist.
NEW FRAMING RULES. We will no longer provide frames. Work may be submitted framed or not, at the artist’s discretion. We will email framing guidelines after we receive your application. All pieces must be submitted ready to hang. Work without hangers will not be shown.
NEW PHOTOGRAPH PROCEDURE. We will no longer photograph pieces at Drop-Off. Instead we ask that artists submit their own digital images if they would like their piece(s) included in the online preview. We will email photo instructions after we receive your application.
HANGING NEW SIZES. With the addition of the new sizes, we are not positive that we will have room for every submitted piece, but we will try hard to hang them all. We commit to hang at least one piece for each artist.
NEW ENTRY FEE FOR PATRONS COMING TO THE SHOW. We will charge a $5 entry fee to people who come to the Friday, September 29 show. Artists do not pay a fee to come to the show.
NEW EXTENDED SALES. The art will be on sale both at the Friday, September 22 show and the following morning September 23. This year we hope to hang the show for longer than our traditional 1.5 days (more on that as plans progress).
