We need your creative voice to speak loudly about climate change! The Extinction Event is an art exhibit that raises alarm for the drastic changes in our climate which is causing the current crisis for all species on the planet. This year's All Species art show sponsored by Spindleworks will call attention to the urgency of protecting life on our planet. The exhibit the Extinction Event is meant to draw attention to our living planet both to celebrate, and to raise awareness of the diversity of species, all of which are affected by our actions and inactions. This year artists are called to submit work that focuses on the threat facing all wildlife and how our actions are necessary to protect the planet. We welcome diversity of artistic expression to reflect the importance of this theme. This will be the seventh exhibit in the series, which has drawn artists from across Maine and across the country. A portion of the sales from this year's exhibit will go to Maine Audubon and will help fund their efforts to protect Maine's wildlife. 30% from each art sale will be donated to this vital organization dedicated to protecting our planet.

On August 11th, we will be hosting a community poetry reading at Frontier Cafe, and are looking for poets to submit pieces exploring topics around extinction, climate and love for our planet to share during this event.
