Casco Bay Craft School Fall Workshops

  • August 22, 2019

Join us in September for the inaugural workshops offered by Casco Bay Craft School on Long Island, Maine.

CBCS was founded in 2019 with the mission of offering fine craft workshops in a variety of mediums, taught by accomplished instructors, in an incomparable island setting off the rugged coast of Maine.

Our Fall 2019 workshops include surface design and textile painting with Catherine Worthington and an exploration of 2D materials to create 3D sculptural works taught by Anna Hepler. We hold memberships in the Maine Crafts Association, Maine Crafts Guild and Maine Fiberarts and offer tuition discounts to their members. Workshops are conducted in the historic VFW Post hall and include tuition, all meals, and housing in beautiful waterfront accommodations.

Located on Long Island, Maine, just off the coast of Portland, with magnificent white sand beaches, quiet country roads, forested conservation land and a friendly small-town atmosphere - a unique treasure in today’s busy world. One of Maine’s 15 islands with a year-round community, it is only three miles long by 3/4 mile wide and boasts picturesque harbors and a 125-acre conservation area complete with a fresh water marsh.

A short boat ride from Long Island puts you in the middle of Portland’s vibrant Old Port which is both a busy commercial seaport and a vibrant arts community with scenic beauty, historic architecture, concert venues, beautiful parks, museums and over thirty art galleries. Named Bon Appetit magazine’s “2018 Restaurant City of the Year” for its chefs, restaurants and craft brewing, Portland’s culinary scene is outstanding and has earned a national reputation as a top dining destination.
