Discover Maine Through Its Makers During Maine Craft Weekend

Statewide, Maine - October 3 + 4, 2026 - Maine’s annual statewide celebration of craft, community, and creativity returns this fall with Maine Craft Weekend. The event invites the public to plan a route on this free, self-guided craft artist open studio tour to discover the people, places, and stories behind Maine’s unique craft communities.

Held on October 3 + 4, the weekend features hundreds of participating artists and locations hosting open studios, workshops, pop-up markets, exhibitions, fairs, artist talks, special events, and activities. Throughout the weekend, visitors can use the event’s interactive online map and listings to search for events by location, region, activity type, media, and more. The weekend allows visitors to have a tailor-made experience, making it easy to explore nearby studios or create a weekend road trip through Maine's creative communities.

From the coast to the mountains, Maine Craft Weekend offers a rare opportunity to step inside working studios, meet artists where they create, and learn about the materials, techniques, and traditions behind exceptional handmade work. Avid collectors, curious travelers, and full families can find something to do throughout the state.

This year's event features participants working across a wide range of media, including basketry, ceramics, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, printmaking, paper, wood, stone, and more.

The weekend aims to connect attendees with local artists, foster collaboration, and support the state’s craft community.

Maine Craft Weekend is organized by Maine Crafts Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustaining and celebrating craft as a cornerstone of Maine’s culture and economy.
